The Royal Citadel on Plymouth Hoe, Devon

Work began on the Royal Citadel in Plymouth in the 17th century. It is still used as a military base but is also a tourist attraction in the summer. Overlooking Plymouth Sound, the Citadel is constructed of local limestone.
